There are cheeping noises coming from the hen hut, I've just had a quick glance inside the laying boxes where the two broody hens have been sitting and saw egg shell, thought initially that the hens had started eating the eggs, which has happened before, but then while staring down on the girls, I heard cheeping noises. So we have had at least one chick hatch, not getting too excited as the first few days are very touch and go, but fingers crossed.
Mike is working on sorting out the old dog kennel, which Sam ( son) had started making for their dog, but then gave it up as a bad job and brought it here for disposal. It's the remains of an old shed so we hope to have this as the crèche.
